In 1955 (same year the Brooklyn Dodgers won the world series) Paul Becker started Eastern Banana Concern with a group of investors, one of whom was the legendary John Wayne. The company exported Fish and Bananas from Panama to North America and the United States. Today, almost 65 years later, grade school friends Samuel Nitka (deep rooted in the produce industry) and Scott Maurer (Paul Beckers grandson) keeps the tradition alive by forming Eastern Produce Concern; today growing and Importing the industries Finest Persian Cucumbers.
